What is Psychotherapy?

The act of psychotherapy is the defined by engaging a therapeutic relationship with a licensed individual who can hold space for emotions, thoughts and patterns to be explored, as they emerge from the ongoing exploration of the self.

It is a non-judgmental space that gives clients the opportunity to have epiphanies, gain higher perspectives and heal painful emotions.

Who can benefit from Psychotherapy?

Anyone can benefit from therapy. Every issue is taken seriously by the therapist, and the client will be given the space and voice to express the issue. Sometimes we feel that our issues are small, and we should push them away, but we never really get rid of them. In order for us to deal with our issues, we need to bring them to light and allow our repressed emotions to emerge. This is what will heal us, and give us a new understanding on how to move forward.

What Are Some Common Issues People Seek Therapy For?

People seek psychotherapy for a variety of reasons, which may include but is not limited to: life transitions, high stress, emotional distress, professional concerns, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties etc. Some people may experience a general sense of “stuck-ness” in their lives. Psychotherapy is designed to create a safe and confidential space for clients to explore their difficulties, build awareness and facilitate positive change.
