What is a Registered Dietitian and what do they do?

Registered Dietitians are experts at nutrition and regulating diet.  They work closely with other health professionals to help with symptom management, to treat or control a range of diet related issues such as arthritis and obesity, and for general health and wellness!  Common reasons to see a Dietitian include:

Weight Management

Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight requires a practical, “real food” approach to eating.  We provide the guidance, education and support required to ensure a sustainable approach to healthy eating and weight management.

PCOS

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is one of the most complex female health issues of our time.  it is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age.  PCOS is accompanied by a variety of different health issues, many of which directly impact fertility.  Eating a specific PCOS Diet is one of the best things you can do to improve your changes of becoming pregnant.

Diabetes

Diabetes is on the rise, yet most cases are preventable with healthy lifestyle changes.  Some can even be reversed.  Taking steps to prevent and control diabetes doesn’t mean living in deprivation; it means eating a tasty, balanced diet that will also boost your energy and improve your mood.  Our Dietitian will help you to enjoy your meals without feeling hungry or deprived.
